Lent LilliesSpring is coming here in Germany! There are people who are shocked that it’s so early this year. Where I’m from, there is still snow on the ground, and my family is jealous of how it’s doing here.

The photo above is of a flower that, apparently, is called a ‘Lent Lilly’ in English. (It’s famous here as a Märzenbecher.) I’ve never seen them at home, but, as I’m paying more and more attention to the signs of the changing seasons, it’s fun to see the quiet calendar of flowers here.

Similarly, below there’s a photo of some of our first daisies. Who would have thought?
